Dr Carla Eisemberg
Carla gained her Master’s degree from the National Institute for Amazon Research in Brazil and her PhD from the Institute for Applied Ecology at the University of Canberra. She has been conducting freshwater turtle research for 15 years in the Amazon, Australia, Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste. She is a Research Fellow at Charles Darwin University and the Red List Coordinator for the IUCN/SSC Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group. She has a very long Brazilian name (Carla Camilo Eisemberg de Alvarenga), which sometimes confuses people.
